Lymph Drainage Therapy (LDT) or Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is more popular than ever, and for good reason. Your lymph system is your body’s trash collector. By clearing the lymph, you can rid yourself of dead cells, toxins and stagnant fluid (which can cause fibrotic problems and stones). This detoxification will allow new, healing circulation to nourish the organs and tissues.
Muscle Lymph Therapy (MLT) is a new method of accelerating lymph flow by also incorporating muscle release. It is a powerful combination. Any of the lymph drainage therapies clear edema, relieve inflammation, help tissue regeneration, improve venous conditions, and relieve pain. Additional benefits include relaxation and improved sleep—both help brain function.
Problems (or Bottlenecks) can happen for a variety of reasons or from numerous causes: falls, tissue injury, surgery, stress, illness, tight clothes, and repetitive postural problems. This is why most everyone needs the advanced techniques.
TMJ disfunction, neck tension, diaphragm fascial tension, shallow breathing are major blocks to good lymph flow. By utilizing MLT, I can release problems and teach you about your body.
Bodies are magnificent and anatomy is fascinating! Advanced Lymph Drainage can clean your tissues and some of your key organs. Some organs have their own lymph collection areas and possible stagnation.
The lungs (especially post-covid with vaccines) need cleansing on more people these days. The kidneys benefit highly by getting flushed if they are overfull. Clear the trash (lymph) and allow new circulation (healing oxygen and nutrients). The liver becomes lighter when drained. (A heavy liver can affect your right shoulder. Because the ligaments, that hold your liver in place, affect the shoulder.)
Eyes, ears and brain can benefit, too! Five times lately I’ve needed to do MLT on my client’s eyes. Of course, the lymph in the neck, ears and face must be cleared first. Lymph drainage can especially help clear the ears. Under the ear drains 80% of the head. This can help relieve sinus congestion, improve balance and sometimes eliminate dizziness. Also, the brain (now coined as the glymphatic system) can improve. Medical experts have identified that lymph congestion in the brain may contribute to Alzheimer’s.
Remember, your lymph system is a big part of your immune system!
Inside the lymph nodes are macrophage, cells that chew up other cells (dead cells, pre-cancer cells and stray proteins). Clearing these stray proteins can alleviate muscle pain and swelling. The lymph runs through a series of lymph nodes, chewed up into smaller and smaller pieces, then dumped back into the blood. Your liver decides what to keep and sends the rest to your kidneys to be eliminated. This gets rid of the trash.
Breast work is beneficial especially for women. However, men, too, might have lymph congestion around their pecs. Breast and chest lymph drainage can reduce fibrotic areas, tighten tissue and reduce the pull of scars. After surgery or injury, lymph drainage can help the body reroute lymph and regenerate the lymph vessels.
Finally, since we are inundated with toxins from pesticides, chemicals and other pollutants, lymphatic bodywork offers so many benefits. Consider adding Lymph Drainage to your wellness plan.
