Tired of the Same Old Routine? Make a Shift at Shyft
At Shyft Massage and
Float Club, they use deep tissue massage, ice bathing, and sensory deprivation
to help people to release their old stories and unlock their hidden
potential.
Ice Bathing is all the rage right now because
of the mass amount of research related to the physical benefits. From toning
the cardiovascular system, to strengthening the immune system and reducing
chronic inflammation, cold plunging has proven over and over again to affect
systems in the body which we previously thought we had no control over.
Owner Kimberly Nelsen shares, “From
my experience, the mental health benefits have proven to be the most
surprising. Ice Bathing builds a mental resilience and empowerment. You
literally get a rush of dopamine to the brain which leaves you feeling GREAT
after a plunge. For people who suffer with depression, this can be a game
changer. In addition to mental
resilience, cold plunging teaches you to stay calm in a stressful environment.
This also has profound affects for people who struggle with anxiety.
Sensory Deprivation offers you the opportunity to
shut out the noise of this non-stop world. Floating in a tank, time dissipates,
and you can lose track of where the body ends and the water begins. It is said
that an hour in the float tank is equivalent to 8 hours of sleep. Profound
things happen in the silence.
Awakenings, Inspiration, Deep Soul Healing and Creative Insights can be
found in the float tank.
Further, Kimberly believe that “we
can create mental resilience, a lightness of being, and new neural pathways
just like you build muscles in your body at the gym. It's time for us to start
actively building the other 93% of our brain.
Change is coming and it starts with you.”
They also offer Massage and
monthly community events including Meditation, Breathwork and Awareness
Training. Check out the calendar (pg 26) for January 7, 11 & 25, 2024.
