Release Trauma at Magnolia Health and Wellness Center
Have you noticed that “trauma”
has become a household word? For the majority of us, it was right in our own
backyard during the past two pandemic years. Trauma affects each of us uniquely
(to our mind, body or environment).
Oftentimes the remembrance of an unpleasant event can be reactivated or
“triggered” by a current event because the memories that were buried can remain
imprinted within our cell memory. Sometimes “ancestral trauma” may be
reawakened that may parallel a significant event that occurred to one of our
parents, grandparents or great-grandparents. For example, an event within a
family’s history such as a stroke, heart attack, car accident or illness can be
in our cell memory, too.
When the body receives a
cut, the body works to repair the wound. If that wound is repeatedly injured,
it may fester and cause pain. Once the re-injury (or block) is removed, healing
resumes and the pain is eliminated. The same is true for mental or emotional
wounds. If the system is blocked or continuously triggered, the mental wound
festers causing pain.
Blocks can be removed
through progressive technologies such as Deep Trauma Release Technique and EMDR
(Eye Movement Desensitization & Release). EMDR Therapy is a non-invasive
treatment using left/right brain-balancing music or a light bar to help
reprocess negative memories. Deep Trauma Release Technique, developed by Dr. Mari
Sammis, is based on the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) body clock and includes
deep breath work, which assists release at the cellular level.
